Intellectual property

Intellectual Property refers to all exclusive rights granted to intellectual creations.

It is divided into two branches, industrial property and literary and artistic property.

Industrial Property rights confer a monopoly of exploitation on technical innovations (patent, plant variety certificate, etc.), shape creations (designs) and distinctive signs (trademarks, trade names, appellation of origin, etc.).

Industrial property rights, which confer a monopoly of exploitation, are acquired in principle by a deposit. This will be the case for trademarks, patents and designs. They can sometimes be acquired through use. This concerns trade names, corporate names and signs.

The rights of Literary and Artistic Property mainly cover copyrights and neighboring rights.

The copyright is acquired without formality, by the very fact of my creation of the work, provided, however, that it is original.
