Industrial franchise
Under an industrial franchise system, the franchisee develops products developed by the franchisor who himself has filed a patent for the realization of these products.
The franchisee reiterates the franchisor’s know-how in order to market the products whose development has been patented. Industrial franchising is sometimes coupled with the marketing of products under the brand name granted by the franchisor.
If the know-how in the marketing of the products is almost non-existent, the contract may be reclassified as a simple patent license.
