Market research
Market research is a set of marketing techniques that measure, analyze and understand the behaviors, assessments, needs and expectations of a defined population.
In the context of pre-contractual information, the Doubin law does not require the franchisor to provide a market study to the franchisee. The delivery of a market study to the candidate may even prove dangerous for the franchisor because if the conclusions of the market study are not carried out, the candidate may engage the responsibility of the franchisor.
The franchisor may provide its franchisee candidate with a simple market report, that is to say a compilation of raw data, without analysis, on the supply and demand of the catchment area but also the information and methodology elements allowing the candidate to carry out his own market study.
