Once your trademark is registered, the INPI will not itself oppose the filing of a subsequent trademark similar to yours, nor will domain name organizations oppose the filing of a domain name that would infringe your trademark.
To maintain the distinctiveness of your trademark, only one solution: monitor the registries (trademark, domain names, registry) and act to oppose filings that are identical or similar to your trademark.
Otherwise, many signs close to your brand will clutter the market and the consumer will have more and more difficulty identifying your offer on the market: your brand will lose distinctiveness.
Method for monitoring brands
Every week, we receive a special report from the INPI on the monitoring of your brands, on subscription.
It allows us to identify any new signs that would hinder your brand. If the sign for which protection is sought is an infringer, we will inform you and take action to oppose its protection: trademark oppositions, requests for the retrocession of domain names, requests for statutory amendments, etc.
Avoid counterfeiting your distinctive signs and keep a distinctive mark
The intervention of the firm makes it possible to prevent counterfeiting signs of your brand from being used: your brand remains distinctive.
