Pre-contractual Information Document (dip Loi Doubin)

You grant a right to use a brand and require your distributor to make an exclusivity commitment of some kind (supply, use of software, non-competition for example).

You are then required to deliver pre-contractual information to the regulated content and prove that you have delivered it, at least 20 days before signing the distribution contract.

Otherwise, your distribution contract (franchise, brand license, commission-affiliate, commercial concession, or even lease-management) could be annulled in court if the absence or non-compliance of the pre-contractual information has vitiated the consent of your distributor: that is to say if he has concluded your brand contract while he would not have done so if he had previously obtained a compliant pre-contractual information document.
